Disgruntled
I heard a report on MPR today about U.S. Attorneys who have lost their jobs due to political shenanigans. The Justice Department defends its position, saying that these attorneys are no more than disgruntled employees. Disgruntled? I'll say. Who wouldn't be disgruntled if they were fired for no reason related to job performance, but because they were an inconvenient cog in a political system?

Fantasy Congress
My daughter started it. She came home from school one day and told me that someone had invented Fantasy Congress, which is like Fantasy Football for those who'd rather follow politics than sports. Since my daughter mentioned it, I've had two comments on it, so here's the Fantasy Congress home page. Watching politics is one of our family's favorite pastimes, albeit a blood-pressure raising one with all the bad behavior going on. Maybe Fantasy Congress will allow us the pleasure of forming an effective, sensible and ethical government - even if only in cyberspace.

Invoking Evil
On Countdown with Keith Olbermann (MSNBC) last night he replayed his Special Comment on Ground Zero, a scathing, right-on-the-money smackdown of President Bush's use of the 9/11 tragedy for his own political ambitions.
Powerful stuff.
Two thoughts:
(1) The President and his Administration have STOLEN this country. Who's going to take it back?
(2) When the President named his Axis of Evil, he actually invoked evil and brought it snarling and slobbering to America's (nay, the World's) doorstep.
According to Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations with God series, we draw to us that which we most fear. We have a vocal sect of ultra-fundamentalist Christians running our government. They are obsessed with the idea of the Apocalypse. Guess what they fear most. Guess what they are trying to create. How are they doing?
